Excavation at Costco Distribution Center

Bob Ames Excavating completed the drilling and excavation for the Costco Distribution Center in Aurora. This project was a 74-acre site, with the 317,000 SQ FT distribution center, and required a fast-track schedule to meet contractor timelines.

Over one-quarter of a mile of trenching was completed for the primary electrical pipes, utility, and telecom duct banks. Excavation and backfill for electrical rooms and underground was completed over a span of 5 football fields. Drilling for 72 light poles resting on massive 14’ x 2’ concrete caissons allowed for site lighting.
