I would recommend Bob Ames Excavating Inc. for any utility installation or general construction projects. I recently worked with them on a sewer line and site prep project for the Town of Estes Park. They installed 1,500 linear feet of sanitary sewer and site prep for a multi-million dollar multi-use building at the fairgrounds.

The project was very challenging due to continuous plan changes and delays by the design engineer as well as unexpected ground water thru a portion of the project. Bob Ames Excavating Inc. was veery professional working through all the unexpected. They were also very fair on negotiations of change orders due to improper design. They did very good work in the field and their administrative staff was very organized and quick to respond to any of my requests.

I have over 24 years of construction management experience; working with Bob Ames Excavating Inc. on this project was very easy as they demonstrated utility and general construction expertise. I highly recommend them.

We have worked with Bob and Chris for many years doing electrical underground for large commercial projects. Their prices are competitive, service is above and beyond what the competitors offer. The latest project was a 100,000sf single story school. We installed 29,000 feet of conduit underground for power and systems. There were many scheduling issues with other trades and weather that delayed and changed the flow of the job. The service and quality I received are far beyond any amount of stars I can provide. Bob and Chris Ames exceeded all expectations I had for this excavation project. I knew I needed the right person to be able to execute what was required, and Chris answered that perfectly. Keeping within the 17% grade required by the county was one of the main challenges. Halfway into the project, we encountered another obstacle – a slab of pure rock that ran approximately 265 feet through the job. With Chris’ knowledge, experience, and transparency, we were able to accomplish it beautifully.
Not only was the completed project beyond expectations, but his professionalism and communication need mentioning as well. Chris maintained open communication throughout the project, provided updates, and worked tirelessly in order to successfully complete the project. He developed and supplied multiple plans throughout the mountainside and up the slope. We settled on the one way we both thought would be the best route for the driveway.

While digging for the installation of the underground secondary, your backhoe operator became suspicious. He had seen some communication locate markings elsewhere on the project but was unable to tell where they went. Excavation was stopped and Base Locate was contacted.

It was discovered that there were two conduits buried mere feet from where the excavation was proceeding with fiber optic communication cables routed in them. The conscientious actions on the part of your field personnel are the only reason a major disater was averted. Thank you.
